Chemical Peel
THE PERFECT DERMA PEEL
Are you ready to transform your skin into looking brighter, younger and healthier in just one week? Look no further than our Perfect Derma Peel. The Perfect Derma Peel says it all. It’s a revolutionary peel that combines Glutathione, Kojic Acid, Retinoic Acid, TCA, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, and Vitamin C.
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals in the skin and helps to slow down the aging process that causes wrinkles. Kojic Acid not only lightens the skin to give it a beautiful new glow, but it is also proven to tighten the skin by increasing collagen and elastin production. The TCA, Retinoic (Vitamin A), and Phenol Acids help to resolve pigmentary issues and aid in wrinkle reduction, while Salicylic Acid exfoliates the surface layers of the skin and improves inflammation. This powerful mixture of ingredients is what makes this peel “Perfect.”
We can treat all skin conditions and deliver amazing results!
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel uses an acid chemical solution to improve the appearance of aging or damaged skin. The chemical solution once applied to the skin causes an exfoliation process that sloughs off layers of the skin to reveal new brighter, smoother, and healthier looking skin.
There are three types of chemical peels:
- Superficial (light lunchtime) peel: usually an Alpha-hydroxy acid that superficially treats the outer layer of the skin by gently exfoliating the dead cells.
- Medium peel: atrichloroacetic acid peel targets the outer and mid layers of the skin to improve damage cells deeper within the skin.
- Deep peel: Phenol (carbolic acid) peel targets the deeper layers of the skin to improve severely damaged skin. Cannot be used on all skin types and requires sedation. No longer widely used as Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing treatments produces safer and greater results.
How does a chemical peel work?
Chemical peels work by using a chemical solution to induce skin exfoliation and reveal healthier skin underneath.

Madonna Eye Lift
WHAT IS THE MADONNA EYE LIFT?
The Madonna eye lift also known as a fractional CO2 eye lift, which is a non-invasive, skin resurfacing alternative to eyelid surgery.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The Madonna lift can give men and women a rejuvenated appearance by treating wrinkles, saggy skin, crow’s feet, droopy lids, dark circles, and elevate the brow without the risks associated with blepharoplasty surgery.
WHAT IS A FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER?
CO2 laser skin resurfacing is the industry’s “gold standard” in laser technology. However, the traditional CO2 laser treatment had a high risk of pigmentary issues, scarring, and a long healing time. The fractional CO2 laser is the newest technology allowing for a safer CO2 treatment because only a fraction of the skin is treated. Fractional lasers emit a beam of light in a pixelated pattern creating thousands of micro, perforated columns in the skin while leaving untreated areas around each column intact. This allows for a safer, more efficient and faster treatment.
HOW IS THE MADONNA EYE LIFT CONDUCTED?
The eyes are cleaned and covered with a topical anesthetic for 35 to 40 minutes. After the anesthetic has taken effect, the topical is removed and eye shields placed over eyes. The treatment covers the entire upper and lower lid (to the lashes) and takes less than 5 minutes per eye.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME LIKE?
Recovery time varies based on the aggressiveness of the treatment. Redness and swelling should be expected for 2 to 3 days. Most experience minimal discomfort during and after treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
The number of treatments needed depends on the severity of wrinkle damage and the desired result. Two to five treatments 3 months apart are generally required.

Pigmented Lesion Revision
FRACTIONAL CO2 & Q PLUS C LASER PIGMENTED LESION REVISION
Pigmented lesions, brown or black spots, and birthmarks are skin spots that are usually moles created from an excessive concentration of melanin in the skin. Melanin is what gives your skin its color and areas of high melanin concentration can be present at birth, caused by age, or overexposure to the sun. The most commonly treated lesions are solar lentigines (commonly known as sun spots), freckles, and birthmarks. Most pigmented lesions, when completely removed, will not return. However, excessive sun exposure and lack of sunscreen use may cause new lesions to occur. Pigmented lesions that change in size, border shape, and color that may itch or sting should be analyzed by a Dermatologist to rule out melanoma.
HOW DOES FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER PIGMENTED LESION REVISION WORK?
The Quanta You Laser is a fractionated (pixilated) carbon dioxide laser and one of the best advances in non-surgical laser scar revision treatments. Co2 lasers have the longest wavelength of all the lasers currently on the market. A fractional Co2 treatment works by sending a laser beam deep through the layers of the skin, which creates tiny spaced columns in the skin similar to a polka dot print. The skin then repairs those tiny columns by pushing out the old skin and replacing it with new. By leaving the surrounding skin around each column intact, this leaves healthy skin available which aides in a faster and safer healing process. This healing process activates the skins stem cells and puts the body’s natural collagen and elastin production on fast-forward as well as regenerating the epithelial layer on the skins surface. This regenerative process of the skin reduces wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, dull skin, age spots, uneven coloration, skin laxity, and textural irregularities.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER PIGMENTED LESION REVISION?
The fractional Co2 laser scar revision is a safe and effective procedure for almost any skin type. However, the best clients are those with a light skin tone, skin types 1 through 3. Skin type can be determined during your free consultation.
WHO SHOULD NOT GET TREATED?
Because of the nature of this procedure, the healing process after can be very hard on clients that suffer from an immune system disorder. Anyone who scars easily should not attempt this procedure largely for cosmetic reasons. Anyone that has a pigmented lesion that has changed in size, border shape, or color, that may itch or sting, should be analyzed by a Dermatologist to rule out melanoma prior to treatment.
Clients who have connective tissue disorders, such as lupus erythematosus or Siogren’s syndrome may have an increases risk of complications and for this reason should forgo this treatment. Although the fractional Co2 laser scar revision procedure can be used to treat acne scarring, those with an active presence of acne are at an increased risk for infection. The presence of cold sores and herpes simplex can also increase complications during the healing process therefore an antiviral medication such as Valtrex should be taken prior to treatment to prevent an outbreak. Individuals currently taking Accutane or those who have taken it in the last 18 month should also refrain from undergoing laser treatments as studies have shown Accutane decreases the healing capability in the skin. Women who are pregnant and breast feeding should also forgo cosmetic laser treatments due to the use of topical anesthetic.HOW LONG DO FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER PIGMENTED LESION REVISION TREATMENTS TAKE?
The entire face can be treated in as little as 30 minutes. However, treatment time can vary depending on location of treatment, number of passes needed, and the use of topical anesthetic.
DOES A FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER PIGMENTED LESION REVISION TREATMENT HURT?
The treatment feels a little like a “pins and needles” sensation.Topical anesthetic is applied prior to the laser treatment and a strong stream of cold air (a Zimmer cooler) is blown on the skin during the treatment to make it virtually painless. Minimal discomfort may be felt but overall the treatment is very tolerable.
WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO A FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER PIGMENTED LESION TREATMENT ? TWO TO FOUR WEEKS BEFORE TREATMENT:

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Results are dramatic giving you the biggest improvement with just one treatment. The fractional Co2 laser is the single best treatment for pigmented lesions and is effective in completely removing the lesion. However, individuals with extreme discoloration may need more than one treatment. Although lesion removal is permanent, excessive sun exposure can result in new lesions requiring another fractional Co2 laser treatment. A proper health and skin care regimen can ensure that your results last for years. Treatments can be repeated every 6 moths indefinitely.
ARE THERE ANY COSMETIC SIDE EFFECTS?
Complications with the fractional Co2 laser are rare and every client’s skin is unique, but the following can occur:
- Pain: Most people experience little pain during treatments and after. If mild discomfort occurs after treatment Tylenol is effective for it.
- Redness: A pink skin color may persist for two weeks or two months after treatment. In rare cases it can last three to six months. This tends to be more common in clients who have a history or flushing and blushing easily or those individuals who have existing dilated vessels on the surface of the skin.
- Wound Healing: The fractional Co2 laser treatment causes a superficial wound to the skin that takes approximately a week to heal. The outer layers of the skin may result in mild to moderate swelling. Ice packs can be effective for it. Crusting is rare but peeling is common. Sun sensitivity can occur for 4-6 weeks so it is recommended that you avoid the sun and wear sunblock.
- Pigment Changes: There is a possibility that the treated area may heal with increased or decreased pigmentation. This is rare and occurs most often in darker skin clients and 2 to 6 weeks after treatment. Hyperpigmentation usually fades in 3 to 6 months, though pigment changes are rarely permanent. Bleaching cream can be effective for it.
- Excessive Swelling: Immediately after treatment, some swelling of the skin will occur. This is temporary and will diminish over the course of a week.
- Scarring: Although scarring is very rare, hypertrophic scars and keloid scaring can occur in very rare cases. This is why it is important to note any prior history of scarring, not to pick at skin after treatment, and to follow aftercare instructions carefully.

Scar Revision
FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER SCAR REVISION
Fractional Co2 laser scar revision is performed to reduce the appearance of scars caused by surgery or injury. While most scars do fade over time and eventually become barely noticeable, some individuals may experience disruptions to the healing process that cause scars to become raised, red, deformed, or indented.
Many clients seek treatment to improve scars because they are embarrassed and unhappy by the appearance of these scars, especially when they are located in prominent areas. We provide the gold standard in scar revision services to help patients achieve clear, smooth skin they no longer have to be embarrassed of.TYPES OF SCARS:
- Ice Pick: Ice pick scars are deep vertical pitted scars with steep edges that are usually acne related.
- Rolling Scars: These are caused by bands of scar tissue that form under the skin causing the surface to have a rolling and uneven appearance.
- Boxcar Scars: Round or oval looking depressions that have a crater like appearance on the skin.
- Hypertrophic Scars: These are red, raised scars commonly found on the back and chest. They are filled with excessive collagen that may be slightly painful or itchy, although they are considered harmless and do not extend past the site of wound.
- Keloid Scars: These are overgrown scar tissue that appears as irregularly-shaped, pink or red, raised, and may continue to grow over time. They can occur anywhere on the body, but are most common on the face, neck, chest, ears, and shoulders.
- Contracture Scars: These are more severe scars that restrict movement as a result of tissue pulling together during the healing process. This type of scar most commonly occurs after large amounts of tissue loss as seen in burn victims and in wounds that occur on a joint.

They use different laser technology and have different wavelengths. One is an erbium laser and the other a Co2 laser. The Co2 laser is a superior laser often referred to as the “gold standard” in laser skin resurfacing because it penetrates the skin deeper, which is why you see such dramatic results after one treatment. The erbium laser does not penetrate as deep and requires multiple treatments.

Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
Fractional CO2 Laser is your best option if you want to look about 10 years younger. There is no cutting, no needles, and no bruising. One treatment provides dramatic results seen in a little over a week. This procedure is a safe, natural, and effective way to improve pore size, fine lines, wrinkles, skin elasticity, eliminate unwanted pigmentation, improve skin texture, remove skin irregularities, reduce acne scarring, eliminate unwanted pigmentation, and produces six months of continuous collagen growth after procedure.
HOW DOES QUANTA YOU LASER FRACTIONAL CO2 SKIN RESURFACING WORK?
The Quanta You Laser is a fractionated (pixilated) carbon dioxide laser and one of the best advances in non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments. Co2 lasers have the longest wavelength of all the lasers currently on the market. A Fraxel laser skin resurfacing treatment works by sending a laser beam deep through the layers of the skin, which creates tiny spaced columns in the skin similar to a polka dot print. The skin then repairs those tiny columns by pushing out the old skin and replacing it with new. By leaving the surrounding skin around each column intact, this leaves healthy skin available which aides in a faster and safer healing process. This healing process activates the skins stem cells andputs the body’s natural collagen and elastin production on fast-forward as well as regenerating the epithelial layer on the skins surface. This regenerative process of the skin reduces wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, dull skin, age spots, uneven coloration, skin laxity, and textural irregularities.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER SKIN RESURFACING?
Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a safe and effective procedure for almost any skin type.
Clients who have connective tissue disorders, such as lupus erythematosus or Siogren’s syndrome may have an increases risk of complications and for this reason should forgo this treatment. Although the fractional Co2 laser skin resurfacing procedure can be used to treat acne scarring, those with an active presence of acne are at an increased risk for infection. The presence of cold sores and herpes simplex can also increase complications during the healing process, therefore an antiviral medication such as Valtrex should be taken prior to treatment to prevent an outbreak. Individuals currently taking Accutane or those who have taken it in the last 18 months should also refrain from undergoing laser treatments as studies have shown Accutane decreases the healing capability in the skin. Women who are pregnant and breast feeding should also forgo cosmetic laser treatments due to the use of topical anesthetic.
HOW LONG DO FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER RESURFACING TREATMENTS TAKE?
The entire face can be treated in as little as 30 minutes. However, treatment time can vary depending on location of treatment, number of passes needed, and the use of topical anesthetic.

- Those individuals with herpes simplex and prone to cold sores should start an antiviral medication prior to getting a CO2 treatment to prevent an outbreak.
- Stop the use of Retinols/Retin A, Renova, Tazoracor and any other anti-aging product.
- If possible stop the use of Asprin, Advil and Aleve or any other anti-inflammatory. Tylenol is ok.

- No Caffeine: You should not consume caffeine at least 4 hours prior to treatment.
- Wear Comfortable Clothes and Shoes: Sweats and a button-up shirt work best.
- Arrive without Make-Up or Contacts: Your face needs to be clean prior to treatment.
- Bring a Hat: A wide brimmed hat works best to shield face from sun if treatment is during the day.
HOW MUCH DO FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER TREATMENTS COST?
Costs vary depending on where you live and the number of areas being treated. Full face treatments can vary between $1,500 – $4,000.
HOW ARE FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER TREATMENTS PERFORMED?
In order to prep the skin, you will cleanse the treatment area and your technician will then apply a topical numbing cream. Next, you will relax, read, listen to music, or watch TV while the numbing cream takes effect. After you numb for about an hour, the numbing cream will be removed and the treatment will commence. After treatment, a topical ointment will be applied to treated area.
CAN I GO BACK TO WORK AND ACTIVITIES IMMEDIATELY?
No, you will need to take the rest of the day off to care for treated area and ice your face. It is recommended that you take off at least a week to allow the redness of your face to subside before going out in public again.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Results are dramatic giving you the biggest improvement with just one treatment. The fractional CO2 laser is the single best treatment for skin damage and wrinkling. However, individuals with extreme wrinkles, skin damage, and scarring may want more than one treatment. Depending on the individual’s lifestyle and skin care regimen, results of fractional laser CO2 resurfacing can last for years.
- Wound Healing: The Fraxel laser skin resurfacing treatment causes a superficial wound to the skin that takes approximately a week to heal.

Laser Hair Removal
LASER HAIR REMOVAL SERVICES IN FAIRFAX COUNTY VIRGINIA
Are you tired and not happy with shaving, plucking, and waxing? Do you get acne, ingrown hairs, or a rash when removing unwanted hair? If so, consider laser hair removal for the most efficient, low maintenance, and permanent hair removal solution. Thanks to recent advancements in laser technology, most people can safely be treated; making laser hair removal the most sought after cosmetic laser treatments for men and women in the United States.
HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
Laser hair removal works by emitting a highly concentrated beam of light through the skin that is designed to selectively penetrate the hair follicle. The pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser light, which causes permanent damage to the hair follicles and prevents further growth. Since hair removal is only effective when the hair is actively growing, a series of treatments are needed to achieve desired results.
HOW DOES HAIR GROW?
Many factors influence hair growth such as age, ethnicity, hormonal changes and medication. Additionally, where the hair is located influences the length, coarseness, and color.
The amount of hair you have depends on how many hairs are in their active growth cycle and how long that cycle lasts. The life cycle of hair revolves through three phases of growth: anagen, catagen, and telogen.
Anagen (Growth Phase)
This is the phase when the hair is actively growing in which the hair bulb is intact. During the early stages of this phase, the bulb is closest to the surface of the skin and contains an abundance of melanin (pigment) and is the most effective time for laser hair removal treatment.
Catagen (End of Growth Phase)
During this regression phase, the hair follicle becomes detached from the hair shaft which cuts off the blood supply. Although the hair is no longer growing it is not shed from the body.
Telogen (Resting Phase)
There is no growth during this phase. The hair bulb is no longer present and these dead hairs will fall out or be pushed out by a new hair follicle.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
Due to the fact that not all hair is actively growing at once, multiple sessions are needed.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
All parts of the body can be treated: arms, bikini, back, chest, face, legs, neck, etc.
DOES IT HURT?
Our Quanta Pronto laser employs a built-in cooling device to minimize the client’s discomfort during a laser treatment, which makes the treatment virtually painless.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
The Quanta Pronto laser uses diode laser technology, which is FDA approved to treat all skin types 1-VI and is safe to use all year round and on individuals with a tan. However, white hair cannot be effectively treated because it lacks melanin (pigment).
HOW LONG DOES THE LASER HAIR REMOVAL PROCESS TAKE?
Treatment time can take seconds to minutes. Our laser utilizes the fastest technology and has the ability to treat an area at 12 hertz per second. An area the size of a man’s back can be treated in minutes.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE TREATMENT?
Prior to the treatment hairs should be recently shaved and no longer than 1-2mm long. If longer hair is treated, the excessive hair growth will cause the wavelength to disperse throughout the hair. This will negatively impact results because the maximum amount of energy will not be absorbed into the follicle. It is also important not to pluck or wax hair 4 to 6 weeks prior to treatment because this will ensure that there is enough melanin (pigment) in the follicle to absorb the laser energy.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER TREATMENT?
- Apply cold compress or Aloe Vera gel if there is itching and skin irritation.Avoid hot baths, sauna, rubbing, and massage for a couple days after treatment.

- Recent sunburn, suntan, and spray tan within 4 weeks of treatment.
- Recent waxing, plucking, exfoliating, scrubbing, and bleaching.
- Skin trauma, wounds, sores, lesions, rash, and skin diseases.
- Breastfeeding or pregnant.

IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?
Based on clinical studies, the efficacy of laser hair removal is shown to be 90% effective at permanently reducing hair.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF WAVELENGTHS USED FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Alexandrite, Diode, ND YAG and Ruby:
Alexandrite (755nm) laser is a shorter wavelength, which will not penetrate the hair follicle as deeply as the diode laser. It also carries a greater risk of side effects.
Diode (810 nm) laser is considered the gold standard in laser hair removal. The longer wavelength of the Diode laser more effectively reaches the hair follicle at the base of the hair than the shorter wavelength of the Alexandrite laser. It can be used to treat all skin types.
Ruby (694 nm) laser is the oldest type of laser used for hair removal. It’s better suited for very fine, light hair and those with fair skin. The Ruby wavelength also has the highest risk of skin complications because of the shorter wavelength.
Nd:Yag (1064nm) laser is the longest wavelength with the least amount of melanin absorption, and requires more treatments. This laser is better suited for very dark skin types.
WHAT KIND OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL TECHNOLOGY DOES SKIN DEEP USE?
At Skin Deep Laser Services, we use the Quanta Pronto Diode Laser. Our diode laser comes with two laser wavelengths the 810nm and the 940mn wavelengths which work simultaneously to treat both the pigment in the hair follicle and the vascular supply at the base of the hair to more effectively target the hair and its blood supply. The Diode laser technology is the industries “gold standard” for hair remova, and can treat all skin types. During a seventh and eighteen month analysis, clinical research has shown the diode laser to be more effective in reducing hair count and requiring fewer treatments when compared to other hair removal technology. Our Quanta Pronto laser is also the fastest on the market with a speed of 12 Hz, which can treat a man’s back in less than 10 minutes.

The Quanta Q plus C laser injects the skin with a nanosecond intense light, which penetrates the skin to break up the ink particles in the tattoo. Shattering the tattoo ink makes the particles smaller allowing the body’s immune system to remove the pigments over time. The laser energy is safe and effective, and only targets the pigmented portion of the skin, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
HOW LONG DOES THE TATTOO REMOVAL PROCESS TAKE?
Each treatment is very short and total time varies from seconds to minutes depending on the size of the tattoo and the type of treatment. The number of sessions needed is determined by the Kirby-Desai scale and varies because of several factors: your skin tone, location of the tattoo, the density of the ink, the type of ink, the color, professional vs amateur tattoos, and your immune system. The Kirby-Desai scale is used to determine the number of treatments needed. Each treatment is repeated at a minimum of 7 weeks apart.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE TREATMENT?
Weeks prior to treatment avoid the sun and wait for tan to fade if area has been exposed to sun. Use sunscreen to prevent pigment changes on and around tattoo. Day of treatment, wash and clean the skin, shave the tattoo area and avoid lotions or putting anything on skin prior to treatment.
DOES TATTOO REMOVAL HURT?
Your skin may have a frosted appearance immediately after removal treatment. This is a result of gas bubbles that make the skin look frosted and white. In approximately 20 minutes this frosting will fade. The treated area may have mild redness and swelling and will subside usually within several hours. There is a possibility that some small blisters or pinpoint bleeding may occur. The treated area will be covered with antibiotic ointment and gauze dressing to keep the area clean.Complete aftercare instructions and ointment will be given at the time of removal. It is recommended that you rest and elevate area treated and limit activity for 24 hours post treatment. An ice compress can be applied periodically. For discomfort, Tylenol can be taken, but avoid Aspirin and other anti- inflammatory medications. Do not pop or remove any scabs or blisters. Your skin may be flaky, dry or itchy for several weeks after treatment. Do not pick or irritate treated skin. Using your ointment will be helpful. Avoiding sun exposure is critical as it can cause pigment changes and scarring. Applying sunscreen to treated area is required, and swimming should be avoided until treated area is completely healed.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT BETWEEN TREATMENTS?
The recovery time varies with each individual. We generally suggest 6 weeks between treatments. However, depending on the individual’s immune system and how well they are healing 10-16 weeks between treatments may be required.
CAN I HAVE ONLY PART OF MY TATTOO REMOVED?
Absolutely. Laser tattoo removal is very precise and we can remove specific areas of your tattoo.
WILL I SEE CHANGES AFTER EACH TREATMENT?
According to the FDA there are over 100 color additives available for use in tattoo ink. Because of the inconsistency in tattoo ink used by different tattoo shops in the United States, and each client being different, you may not see a drastic change after each session, although most clients will see immediate changes after each treatment. We photograph and record each tattoo before treatment so you can trace your progress.
IS TATTOO REMOVAL SAFE? ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS OF TATTOO REMOVAL?
The chances of scarring are very low because new laser technology reduces the side effects of tattoo removal. Scarring can occur if client aftercare instructions are not followed. Additionally, risk of infection is also a possibility if aftercare treatment is not followed. Changes in skin pigment can also occur making the treated area noticeably lighter or darker than the surrounding skin. Therefore, it’s important that your laser technician look over your medical history during your consultation because there is an increased risk for those with auto immune diseases, diabetes and other skin conditions.
WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE LASER TATTOO REMOVAL?
Individuals who should not have laser tattoo removal are those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, individuals who experienced an allergic reaction when getting their tattoo, anyone prone to keloid scarring, those with autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and other skin conditions.
